CounterTop is built from the ground up with your privacy in mind. We do not track you, we do not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not collect, store, or sell any personal data.
Data Storage and iCloud Sync
All of your recipes, timers, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced across your devices via your personal Apple iCloud account.
This data is transmitted and stored securely within Apple’s infrastructure; we (the developer) do not operate external servers, cannot view your data, and have no access to your personal iCloud container.
On-Device Intelligence & Processing
Features that assist with scanning, parsing, or structuring recipes utilize Apple’s built-in, on-device system intelligence and machine learning models.
All analysis occurs locally on your hardware. Your recipe texts, scanned cookbook pages, and images are never sent to third-party AI services, external servers, or remote processing pipelines.
Third-Party Services
CounterTop does not share any user data with third parties. Any purchases or subscriptions are handled directly through Apple's In-App Purchase system, subject to Apple’s standard Privacy Policy.

CounterTop provides recipe management, timer utilities, and culinary drafting tools for personal, informational, and entertainment purposes only. The app is not a certified nutritional, dietary, or medical service.
Web Recipe Importing & Third-Party Content
CounterTop provides tools that allow you to import and structure publicly available recipe information from third-party websites (such as standardized JSON-LD recipe metadata) solely for your private, personal, non-commercial use.
Ownership & Attribution: All intellectual property, copyright, trademarks, and proprietary rights in imported recipe content belong exclusively to their respective authors, publishers, or website owners. CounterTop does not claim ownership, authorship, or affiliation with any third-party websites or content imported using the app.
Personal Archiving Only: You agree to use the web import feature strictly as a personal utility to archive, format, and view recipes you access for your own cooking. You agree not to distribute, republish, commercialize, publicly display, or create derivative commercial works from third-party recipes imported into the app.
Accuracy & Availability: CounterTop does not host, curate, or review external recipe content. The developer makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, safety, or continued availability of any external website or content imported via third-party URLs.
AI-Generated Content & Dietary Preferences
Features powered by on-device machine learning or Apple Intelligence generate recipe ideas, ingredient suggestions, and instructions algorithmically based on user prompts. While you may configure dietary preferences (such as Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, or Dairy-Free):
Important Allergy & Dietary Advisory
CounterTop does not warrant or guarantee that generated recipes are free from specific allergens, cross-contamination, or ingredients unsuitable for your dietary needs.
The app cannot verify the contents, purity, or sourcing of ingredients you purchase.
You are solely responsible for inspecting physical product packaging, labels, and allergen warnings before preparing or consuming any meal. If you have severe food allergies, celiac disease, or specific medical dietary constraints, exercise independent caution and consult a qualified healthcare provider.
Food Safety & Cooking Guidance
Cooking times, temperatures, and techniques provided by imported recipes or generated content are general approximations. You are responsible for ensuring that all food—particularly meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs—is handled safely and cooked to safe internal temperatures according to your local food safety agency standards.
Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability
CounterTop is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any adverse reactions, allergic incidents, foodborne illnesses, kitchen accidents, personal injuries, or incidental damages arising out of or related to your use of recipes, instructions, timers, or suggestions provided within the app.
